Ophthalmology refers to the study of eyes.
The eyes are responsible for vision.

Common clinical signs include res, inflamed eyes, squinting, swelling, light sensitivity, tearing or discharge, rubbing the eye, or vision loss, Specialized diagnostic tests are required for proper diagnosis and include tonometry, Schirmer tear test and fluorescein eye stains.
