Animal health transport certificates

Health Certificates

Health certificates are required when traveling with your pet. A health Certificate is documentation completed by the vet ensuring your pet is free of infectious disease and satisfies specific requirements, such as specific testing (Rabies titers), vaccinations, or treatments (anti-Ecchinococcus).

The requirements for travel are set by each individual state, territory or country. The vet will first weight and examine your pet and check the paper work to ensure it satisfies the appropriate requirements.

It is important to plan travel far enough in advance to allow enough time to meet the destination country’s requirements.

Most Health Certificates and Pet Passport checks are valid upto 72 hours prior to transport.

It is important to contact the company transporting the pet (airline, or cruise line) to determine what additional requirements the pet must meet.
